A visiting lawyer of another law society that is a signatory to the National Mobility Agreement 2013 or the Territorial Mobility Agreement 2013 and who qualifies under rule Rule 7.03 may provide legal services without a permit for a maximum of 100 days in any calendar year.
A visiting lawyer is bound by the Law Society Act, 1999, the Law Society’s Rules, and the Code of Professional Conduct while providing legal services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
It is the responsibility of the visiting lawyer to record and verify the number of days in which they provide legal services in Newfoundland and Labrador and to prove that they have complied with the Law Society Act, 1999, the Law Society’s Rules, and the Code of Professional Conduct.
